The British read more newspapers per head of population, more books, borrow more from libraries and are an all round better read nation. Americans are a nation of couch potatoes. Except when they to go the movies. And sometimes, they are so kind as to steal the good ones from England and DESTROY them in remakes. Please stop! America has dumbf*&kistan (the red states where they believe in the literal truth of the bible but couldn't tell you the names of the two rivers between which civilization began and in what country they may be found. America is a dog-eat-dog society in which tens of millions are s!!t out of luck if they don't have health insurance. Britain is a vastly more civilized country by comparison, in which healthcare is available free of charge if needed. In Britain gun crime is unusual. In America it happens all the time. Not even John Prescott would have dare to attempt Bush senior's antics, when running for re-election with Ronald Reagan, in rural Ohio, of donning a plaid shirt and sitting on a tractor eating pork scratchings. All in all, smarter, classier, and they are just sitting over there thinking 'what are the Americans doing.' It's like the Jerry Springer show over here, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. They put us to shame!

Disdain for the Americans

Most Brits think the monarchy is good for tourism, and most of those gawpers are American. For a nation of citizens they have a craven and pathetic liking for anything with a touch of royalty. The only possible explanation is a deep insecurity about their place in the world. This is entirely appropriate to a nation of johnny-come-latelies, parevenus and nouveau riche in search of sophistication. We sit in awe on this side of the pond of how refined they are, while not attempting to really make ourselves more presentable to the world!

Get real, your just trying to make a big deal out of nothing. And if it IS a big deal why don't you suggest some solutions to our "problems". Problems you seem to feel Britain doesn't have.

I understand that our president is a tool, but come on, Blair is a retard. Comparing average citizenry on stereotypes makes us worse than them.

Bad orthodontia versus obesity. Har-har!

Holy crap, I understand that there are problems in the US, but all I've seen you do is Bit-ch about it and grip. Got any solutions to any of your problems? And what was that you said that American tourists are "gawpers" at British society and sophistication? I don't know, but having traveled the world myself I have found that the admiration is generally pointed towards us! The youth of China, Russia, and many other nations watch our media and idolize US!. Now weather or not that is a good thing is besides the point. Also, make ourselves more presentable to the world?!?! If your going to drop THAT sh!t you'll have to add the rest of the world with it. Every nation has its flaws and skeletons in the closet, plus Britain recently has follow US and OUR lead into war (again, weather the war is wrong or right is besides the point). What it all boils down to is this, if you don't like it here, then try making constructive comments and suggestions. If your set on being a nihilist, get the fuc< out.
