You Don't Deserve 40 Acres and a Horse

Do minorities deserve payment for slights incurred before they were even a twinkle in their parents' eye?

By that logic, everyone is owed something from someone.

I'm not going to sit here and say that bad stuff didn't happen to people. But I am pretty sure that every flipping country has messed up at some point to every culture, race, nationality, religion, so on, so forth. So, if everyone, somewhere in their past, has been the victim of mistreatment, why don't we all just ask for reparation? Oh, that's right, because it is the 21st century and we got over decades ago!

Last time I checked, I didn't enslave anyone against their will. Neither did my parents. Or my grandparents. Or anyone else I know, for that fact. Why should I have to bear the guilt of something with which I had nothing to do? I don't understand how crap that happened a century ago has anything to do with me. It just annoys me when people are looking for a handout.

True, I think that really is what the situation is, people looking for hand outs and not trying to make a way for themselves in the world. For that matter, here in the US it is happening A LOT among our youth.

We have equal opportunity laws for employment and housing, equal access to education (accomplished by busing), and Affirmative Action (quotas) to ensure employment. There is no reason this already compensated generation should feel it is due . even more compensation. There are sufficient advantages and opportunities that all anyone has to do is seek them. .

Yea, i think that people all too often look for hand outs instead of working for their own future. People are lazy.
